Services
Taxi installation and complete taxi equipment: we turn a new or used car into a ready-to-use taxi – in one go, in our workshop in Floridsdorf.
Alberen M12 taximeter
We are an Alberen partner and install the M12 model exclusively. It is a mirror taximeter: the display and controls sit in the rear-view mirror instead of a separate unit on the dashboard. That keeps your view clear and the interior tidy.
The M12 is not tied to a specific vehicle, can be installed with minimal intervention and removed again when you change vehicles.
We give a two-year warranty on every taximeter we install. By the way, in German the device is written both “Taxameter” and “Taximeter” – it means the same thing.
- Mirror taximeter, display in the rear-view mirror
- Installation including all wiring
- Two-year warranty
- Repair, should anything ever fail
- Transfer to another vehicle
FMS radio unit and radio installation
FMS is the radio unit in the vehicle. It connects your taxi to the dispatch centre so you receive jobs directly in the car – for example from Taxi 40100 or Airport Taxi.
We install the unit, fit the antenna and wire it to the taximeter so that both systems work together.
- Installation in the vehicle including antenna
- Wiring to the taximeter
- Reinstalled when you change vehicles, too
What is included in the installation
Alarm system
We make the alarm system ourselves and install it ourselves. It is included in both packages.
Signal horn
Part of the standard equipment and wired together with the taximeter.
Roof sign
Yellow with black print for Vienna, white with black print for Lower Austria.
Roof sign lettering
We apply the lettering to the roof sign here in our workshop.
Steel strip for aluminium or glass roofs
A magnet will not hold on an aluminium or glass roof. For these we fit a steel strip and wrap it in film to match the vehicle.
No drilling
We never drill into the vehicle, neither for the roof light nor for the mount.
How an installation works
Allow between three hours and a full working day, depending on the package, radio unit and vehicle.

Frequently asked questions
What customers ask us most often – and what we answer.
Do I have to get the taximeter calibrated?
Yes. We do not calibrate taximeters ourselves; this is the responsibility of the accredited calibration office KSW Technik GmbH, Rheinboldtstraße 26, 2362 Biedermannsdorf, phone +43 676 846666673. We do the installation, then you drive to the calibration office. Please arrange the appointment and the next steps directly with the calibration office.
How long does the installation take?
Allow at least three hours, and up to a full working day depending on the package and vehicle. You can leave the vehicle with us or wait. Coffee is ready for you.
Can I take the taximeter to my next car?
Yes. The Alberen M12 is not tied to a specific vehicle. When you change vehicles, we remove it from the old car and install it in the new one.
Roughly how much does it cost?
The Magnet Package starts at €1,000, the Floating Package at €1,300, both including VAT. The exact price depends on the vehicle, the mount and whether a radio unit is added. Call us and we will tell you within two minutes.
Do you also fit out vehicles for Taxi 40100 and other dispatch centres?
Yes. We install the FMS radio unit that connects your vehicle to the dispatch centre and wire it to the taximeter. Which dispatch centre it is makes no difference to the installation.
What do I need to bring?
Your GISA extract (trade licence register) and the Typenschein (vehicle type certificate). That is all we need.
Do I need a roof rack?
Not necessarily. The floating mount needs a crossbar – but that can also be fitted onto existing roof rails using a suitable roof rack adapter. If your vehicle has neither, we use the magnetic version. It is also the better choice for tall vehicles such as the Mercedes Vito, because a raised mount brings no advantage there. On aluminium or glass roofs we first fit a film-wrapped steel strip so that the magnet holds. We never drill into the vehicle.
How can I pay?
By bank transfer or in cash.
Do you also ship roof lights abroad?
Yes, to installation workshops. So far we have shipped to Germany and Switzerland; delivery is possible throughout the EU and also to Turkey. Ready to ship within five working days. Free shipping within Austria for orders of €100 or more; deliveries abroad are subject to shipping costs. For details, see Roof Lights.
